Casey Beauchamp - Lead Instructor

Casey began practicing yoga in his teens to heal from a breakin (break dance) injury and connected with the practice profoundly. In 2005, he earned his 200-hour Hatha Yoga certification with the Shambhava School of Yoga, a residential program located at the Shoshoni Ashram. Immersion in the ashram's rich yogic environment marked the beginning of a lifelong quest to study the meditative arts.

For the next seven years, Casey attended Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. There, he earned his BFA in Performance and Traditional Eastern Arts with a concentration in Yoga Teacher Training, which certified him at the 1000-hour level in Hatha Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Yoga Meditation, as well as Yoga History, Theory, and Philosophy. He went on to complete an MA in Contemplative Education and then worked for the university as a summer program coordinator and meditation instructor for an additional five years.

In 2015, Casey moved to New York City, where he worked as a teaching artist, performing artist, and yoga instructor. While living there, he trained over three cohorts of yoga teacher trainees through various training programs. In 2017, he developed the Contemplative Yoga Teacher Training program, in which he trained two cohorts of students. He has over twenty years of yoga teaching experience.

Casey's yoga teaching style is deeply meditative and often humorous! On the mat and in the world, Casey strives to balance relaxed precision and deep play. He enjoys teaching students the way he practices. That is, a practical view of Yoga and Buddhist theory and philosophy, together with experiential aspects, to offer an integrated lifestyle for the modern yogi.

He currently works as a physical education and wellness teacher at The Raleigh School. You can learn more about Casey and the lineages of meditative arts that inspire his training on his website. formless-form.com
